Description of Client and needs:
The meeting and banquet room at the new Alumni Association building had a very unassuming look which did not visually fit with the room. HFA was asked for suggestions on integrating this bar/serving area with the remainder of room.
Scope of Project:
HFA suggested the bar itself be slightly reconfigured and refaced in a dark and light mahogany trim like the rest of the meeting room so it visually became part of the entire space.
Previously, the entire bar area had been a light maple laminate which clashed with the decor. So, HFA designed a new paneled face for the bar in natural and dark stained mahogany with a copper top. Behind the bar, a solid mahogany shelf was installed along with custom matching carved trim and crown moulding to integrate the back wall into it. The area of wall between pilasters became a blank canvas where a custom mural depicting cadet life was commissioned and installed to tie the entire project together. New dimmable LED lighting was installed above the mural to illuminate the artwork and the rear bar area and is used to create a visual “feel” to the area.
